Michael Frederick Gear (born 27 November 1934) is a former Suffragan Bishop of Doncaster.〔Crockfords, (London, Church House 1995) ISBN 0-7151-8088-6〕
Gear was educated at St John's College, Durham.〔‘GEAR, Rt Rev. Michael Frederick’, Who's Who 2012, A & C Black, 2012; online edition, Oxford University Press, December 2011 (), accessed 9 July 2012〕 Ordained in 1961,〔(National Archives-Gear’s Curate’s License )〕 he began his career with a curacy at ''Christ Church, Bexleyheath''〔(Details of Parish )〕 was then Vicar of St Andrew, Clubmore, Liverpool; Rector of Avondale, Harare; Rural Dean of Macclesfield; and finally, before his elevation to the Episcopate, Archdeacon of Chester. Since retiring to Maidstone Bishop Michael continues to serve the church as an Assistant Bishop within Canterbury diocese and a trustee of a charity for Zimbabwean street children.〔(Charity details )〕
